In life, there are normal days, but once in a while, there are days that are not that normal and in some way change your way of seeing life, I called those days, extraordinary days, days that are great because they show you new things and let you enjoy your life more, besides, sometimes these days teach you how to live.
What makes a day unforgettable is the impact that can cause in your life, an extraordinary day can make you see life from a different point of view, that’s why it is called extraordinary which means that it is more than an ordinary day of school, work, homework, social meetings, etc. Those experiences in unforgettable days are the ones that take your life from an ordinary level to a super special one, and those days determine your life.
Enjoy Working
One of the wonderful things that can happen in a human being life is to have a work that is enjoyable. A July 18 a group of around 30 missionaries came to my country, most of them were between 16 and 24 years old, I was so excited about what was going to happen during that week, and, above all, I was excited about working in something that I enjoy doing a lot which is translate and work with children and youth, so that week on Monday I had a meeting with the pastor from my church and also with the other translators that were going to work with us to talk about what we were going to do, everyone was so excited about what was going to happen.
On Tuesday at my church, we met the missionaries, everyone introduced themselves both translators and missionaries, it was hard from the beginning to remember all the names because there were a lot, after that, we talked about the organization and we were divided in groups to work in the churches, then we went on a kind of tour to meet all the churches where we were going to work, finally we came back to my church and had lunch together.
The next three days were working days with kids and young people, we sang, we made crafts, and we played games, everyone was full of energy and very happy about being there and we were happy as well, we enjoyed all those moments with them playing, singing and, above all, learning about God.
On Saturday we met at the hotel and had fellowship with the four churches we worked with during the week, we learned about purity, and how strong we could be if we are together, after that, we played soccer and basketball, everything went good, in the afternoon, we had a concert at my church and a message of the gospel and also some testimonies shared by the missionaries. It was a great week and everyone enjoyed being part of that blessing.
Amazing Day
Monday July 25 was an awesome day I never want to forget about, it was some of those days that I want to live over and over again, it was the last day we were going to be with the missionaries and after working for almost a week, the moment of saying bye was really close, so a trip was organized, I was excited about going on this trip, we arrived early around 7. 30 am at the hotel where they were staying, that was the time we were supposed to be there, however we had to wait a little because before starting the real trip we were going to go to coffee cooperative so everyone could buy coffee to take home, while we were waiting we were talking in the hotel and tasting American snacks while the missionaries were tasting our snacks, the weather was really good, it was fresh and everyone was ready to have a great day.
Finally, we left the hotel and we went to our first stop which was the coffee cooperative, almost everyone bought some coffee bags to take home, others were just tasting it, and, meanwhile we spent a good time talking and waiting for everyone to finish buying and go to the next stop considering that nobody had had breakfast and since it was late, maybe someone was hungry well I was, after waiting for a while, we headed to the next stop which was a place called “Entre Nubes” (Among Clouds) which was the place where we were going to have breakfast, in the meantime, in the bus which we were going in, we were talking, laughing and some others, taking pictures of the mountains that we were seeing while going on the road.
Breakfast
We arrived at the place “Entre Nubes”, it was a fantastic place, and I believe that everybody loved that place full of good things, the weather was cooler and the place was attractive, full of flowers and plants, the walls and the roof were covered by nature, the tables and chairs were made of wood, everyone sat down waiting for the breakfast, some of us asked for a traditional breakfast but most of us asked for pancakes and of course the coffee that cannot be out of a good breakfast, some others asked for an orange juice.
After having breakfast, the owner of the restaurant gave us a tour around the place, it had a garden of flowers and also a coffee plantation, we walked around the place taking pictures, learning about coffee and little history given by the owner of the place, also, he showed us how the coffee bean is processed to be able to drink it.
Buying
After we left the restaurant, we headed to Ataco, where everyone was going to be able to buy something to take home and remember being in this country, it was a great time we all spent there, everyone had fun buying things, everybody was happy about the things they had bought for themselves and their families, things like bracelets, little guitars, toys, hats, shirts, etc. It was a really good time everyone spent buying and seeing the cultural things that were there.
Relaxing
I think that out of all the stops that we made, the beach was one of the ones that everybody was waiting more for, some of us had a long time without going to the beach, so we arrived at the beach, and it really was amazing, when we arrived at the hotel and saw the beach for a couple of minutes, everyone started changing clothes to go swimming, but not before taking pictures which is something always present.
We had a lot of fun and great moments swimming and making sand castles with some guys and girls. Then while we were waiting for lunch in the afternoon, some of us went to sleep and lie down in the hammocks while other ones just sat down and talked. Lunch arrived so we ate, even though we were at the beach, most of us, even I asked for hamburgers with fried potatoes, but some others did ask for sea food. After lunch some of us went back to the beach while others started changing clothes since it was a little late and then it was picture time, so everyone was taking pictures, in group, selfies, pictures of the sea, etc. It was a great time.
Ending
After the beach we went to what was going to be our last stop before saying good-bye, and what a great way to finish an awesome day eating a delicious cake and being with wonderful people, again the weather was fantastic, it was cold, and everyone was enjoying their delicious cake, a fantastic moment I don’t want to forget.
Saying Good-Bye
Finally, and sadly, the moment nobody wanted it to come arrived, we had to say good-bye to everyone, so I took the time to do it giving a hug to everyone and saying to them that I was going to miss them and that I hoped to see them again and that’s what I truly hope…
Trips and experiences like this one are the ones I never want to forget about and I want to treasure it in my heart forever, they’re not ordinary days, they were super hyper mega extraordinary and wonderful days, that described in just one word they were a blessing.
